About
Hello to all! My name is Shanah and I have had Celiac Disease for the past 22 years. I got diagnosed when I was 5 years old, so needless to say my youth was a little difficult sometimes. I have to say that things have changed a lot on this front during that time. When I first got diagnosed the only thing really gluten free were rice cakes, and they weren’t really all that great by themselves. Now, as most of you know, we have evolved into crackers, bread, pies, bagels, cakes, pizzas and even donuts! I have been so excited the past few years with all of the advances of actually decent tasting gluten free food. Of course gluten free food still isn’t mainstream, and it is expensive, but at least it can be found in most specialty stores and in some grocery chains in smaller doses. Through the years I have met very few others with Celiac Disease, like myself, and would like to be here for all of the other people afflicted with this disease. This blog is designed to meet others in the same situation and just to swap ideas and stories. So I hope this site helps, even if it is just a comfort to you, and please leave me feedback on what can be improved or changed to make this website more successful and helpful to all.
